About The Book
Bailey’s Light
The Army of Light is a series of stories developed to help children and adults who have suffered traumas find their inner light and move past the dark feelings they fear will take hold of them forever. Written by a trauma therapist, these stories are to be used to aide the healing process and guide wounded souls into a place of empowerment and light.

One of my greatest joys as a therapist is helping clients rediscover the light that feels lost amidst the muck and layers of unprocessed experiences they carry.
My journey with “Bailey’s Light” began during my training to become a trauma therapist. Over the past 25 years, I’ve used the core story with clients of all ages. As I’ve evolved as a trauma therapist, Bailey, the heroine of the story, has evolved as well. I wanted a character who could offer healing to traumas of all shapes and sizes, embodying the belief that all wounds are healable. The metaphor of the Light is central to my belief system, and the series we’re creating aims to help children and adults heal from various traumas.
Marastella, our illustrator, has brought a profound depth of emotion to the story, and I’m eager to see how they’ll continue to enrich the series. We chose to publish this children’s book as a COVID project, a beacon of hope during dark times. When we protect and nourish the light within us, we emerge stronger. It’s my wish that everyone who reads my books finds hope, light, and belief in a better tomorrow.

I see the whole person. I work eclectically with the many forms of therapy I have trained in over 35 years as a therapist from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) tapping. There is no one fit for a person and therapy is a dance where you guide your clients between steps so they can soar alone. They need you to lead where they need extra safety for containment and expansion, then they take the lead, and you flow clinically with them. As a Drama Therapist and Psychodramatist, my primary focus is to improve spontaneity of self through action methods. This is whatever the client needs at the time. My focus is to help you feel seen so you can see yourself.
